Drove to school at the peak of rush hour. Some dude in a red Monte Carlo decided turning left in front of a matte black car charging ahead at 60mph would be a good idea. Glad I have good brakes.

After that I got onto the canal route which consisted of bumper-to-bumper traffic... all moving at 70mph. We were a half car length away from each other in all three lanes, and still doing 10 over the speed limit. It was exiliarating and terrifying. As soon as I got a reasonable (at least a car length) distance between myself and the person in front of me it was instantly taken up by someone jumping in.

Also there was a rear-end accident in the middle of the road that happened 5 minutes before I rolled through and backed up traffic for a mile and a half. BLEEEEH

I have to start commuting across town on Friday. Not looking forward to it.

As an aside, when did the 'canal route' term come about? Seriously, as someone relatively new to the city, I honestly had no idea what the hell the traffic people on the radio were talking about until recently

Yet another reason why I drive an orange car. I don't blend in to traffic.

Traffic sucks. But after a while you get used to it

You would think that a matte black car with a red stripe and loud exhaust would be noticeable in traffic. Suppose not. Next car gonna be either bright red or bright blue. Probably blue because the insurance is higher for red cars.
